After April 2023, 17 cars will be discontinued in the Indian car market. Most of these include five cars from Honda, three from Mahindra, and two each from Hyundai and Skoda. one each from Maruti Suzuki, Renault, Nissan, Toyota, and Tata. Most of the cars are diesels. As soon as these rules are implemented, the car manufacturers will have to either update the engines of their cars or they will have to be discontinued. In view of the strictness of the government, Hyundai has recently discontinued the diesel variant of its i20 car. Toyota and Volkswagen have also announced plans to discontinue their diesel cars. The vehicles will have to meet the BS6 Phase 2 norms in real-world conditions as per RDE. Car-maker companies will have to stop selling vehicles if they do not work according to the rules.

The prices of cars had increased by Rs 50 to Rs 90 thousand, and those of two-wheelers by Rs 3 to Rs 10 thousand. Car manufacturers had invested about 70 million rupees to upgrade the technology. Well, the burden of the cost was on the consumers. This time also, some companies have increased the prices of vehicles. Some companies are about to grow.

Most people are avoiding buying diesel vehicles. focusing on gasoline vehicles. Car makers are also discontinuing the sale of their diesel vehicles. However, these vehicles will continue to be serviced even after the sale is stopped.
