Research shows that 14% of adults in America are becoming more addicted to eating foods high in sugar and fat. 12% of children may have this habit. In the US, especially during the holidays, this kind of meal is more frequently used. According to associate professor Ashley Gerhardt at the University of Michigan, eating foods with a lot of sugar and fat does not make you feel more pleasurable. It motivates us to repeat those actions.

You can have a propensity for eating sweets. Dopamine is a hormone that the body releases when a person consumes his favourite sweets. This intensifies our tendency to consume sweets. The consumption of highly processed food has become an addiction for more than half of the people in America.

Alexandra DiFelicantonio, an assistant professor at Virginia Tech’s Fralin Biomedical Research Institute, claims that millions of people are impacted. Dopamine levels in foods high in fat and sugar can rise by up to 200%. Consequently, we must regularly eat healthful foods as recommended by medical professionals. Dopamine levels rise in the body by 135 to 140% when sugar is consumed. Up to 160% more fat raises this level.
