How to Set up Goals in Google Analytics
Create Goals to understand website's performance. From sign-ups, to purchases and downloads, setting up Goals in Google Analytics helps you track important events on your website. Creating Goals will unlock new reporting in Google Analytics that you can use to drive your website towards success.
Goals can be applied to specific pages or screens your users visit, how many pages/screens they view in a session, how long they stay on your site or app, and the events they trigger while they are there. When a visitor to your website or user of your app performs an action defined as a goal, Analytics records that as a conversion.
Here's how to create a Goal:
- Sign in to Google Analytics
- Click Admin and select the preferred view
- Click Goals
- Select + NEW GOAL to create a Goal
>NOTE :
There have been several online discussions about the impact of Google Analytics on site performance. However, Google introduced asynchronous JavaScript code in December 2009 to reduce the risk of slowing the loading of pages tagged with the ga.js script.
