India is a Space Power now

WOW. GREAT. AWESOME. India has successfully tested Anti-Satellite (ASAT) Missile by targeting a low earth orbit satellite and destroying it. Salute to DRDO scientists who were part of this mission. 'Mission Shakti' operation was a difficult target to achieve which was completed successfully within three minutes of launch.

The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) is an agency of the Government of India, charged with the military's research and development, headquartered in New Delhi, India.

After United States, Russia & China, India 4th country to acquire this space capability.

ASAT missile brings down a low earth orbit satellite in just 3 minutes. A giant leap that is transformational which puts India in a completely different league.

Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi wrote on Twitter :

India stands tall as a space power! It will make India stronger, even more secure and will further peace and harmony. India is only the 4th country to acquire such a specialised & modern capability.

"India has entered its name as an elite space power. An anti-satellite weapon A-SAT, successfully targeted a live satellite on a low earth orbit."

ASAT missile will give new strength to India's space prog. I assure int'l community that our capability won't be used against anyone but is purely India's defence initiative for its security.We're against arms raised in space. This test won't breach any int'l law or treaties. 'Mission Shakti' is an important step towards securing India's safety, economic growth and technological advancement.
