Google ends AI ethics council ATEAC


Google announced it ended its AI ethics council ATEAC, created for responsible development and use of AI in research, in less than two weeks after backlash from employees. A group of Google employees began a petition demanding removal of Kay Coles James from the council for being "vocally anti-trans, anti-LGBTQ, and anti-immigrant". Kay Coles is think tank Heritage Foundation's President.
