X-Men 97 on Top: TV Series Rules Rotten Tomatoes
The beloved animated series X-Men 97 has surged back to a perfect 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. This reignites its position as the highest-rated Marvel television show.
100% deserving. Honestly one of the best superhero projects I've ever seen in movies, TV shows and games. Can't wait to see what they've got coming up next. It was beautiful to watch. The kid in me was left excited after every episode and they truly delivered.
Magneto's speech to the UN, especially the part where he says "when I was a boy, my people's homes were burned to the ground because we dared to call God by a different name" has stuck with me. Magneto's speech about the Earth being big enough for both humans and mutants to coexist was some of the best written dialogue I've ever come across in an animated series.
The appearance and pure fear the Master Mold put into everyone. How it's edited, how the sound is cut out, how it's shot, the atmosphere. The sheer magnitude of Master Mold's attack, and the decision to see from the "boots of the ground" point of view. The sound effects of Master Mold's attack.
The return to a 100% rating highlights the enduring popularity of the X-Men. X-Men 97's creative team also captured the essence of the franchise well. With a perfect score, X-Men 97 stands as a must-watch for any Marvel fan, old or new.
They earned every bit of praise. Excellent from beginning to end. Now we need Spiderman 90’s to come back because they let it on the biggest cliff hanger ever.
X-Men 97 premiered in March 2024, a continuation of the iconic X-Men: The Animated Series. It brought back our favorite mutants for new adventures in the 1990s. The return was praised for its nostalgic animation style and mature themes.
Somebody can say that the new Ghostbusters movie is god awful and one of the worst things ever and give it a four out of 10. Somebody is going to find it to be the greatest film of the last decade and give it a 10 out of 10. It's just how it goes.
This ultimately means nothing, but it's a consensus now that I've got all that out of the way. So people hopefully understand what we're talking about here across the board. Opinions are in and X-men 97 delivers.

Amazing. I was a fan of the original show as a kid and this series far exceeded any of my expectations. Just astoundingly good.
Animated Nostalgia Triumphs!
This perfect score is a significant achievement for Marvel Studios. It comes as the X-Men are poised for a major return to the big screen within the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The positive reception for X-Men 97 bodes well for future mutant projects.
I gotta say, they really did capture everything from the original. I'm talking about action, storytelling, character arcs, twists, and humor. I will never forget that shot of a teary-eyed rogue bursting out of the rubble during Genosha. What a show.

X-Men 97 Back on Top: TV Series Rules Rotten Tomatoes
The last five minutes of episode five might just be my favorite scene in Marvel, or in anything, ever. As a Gambit superfan I was physically jumping for joy, but as just a viewer I was in awe. I seriously think that scene is the best crafted scene ever. The tension as Cable shows up combined with everyone partying, jamming out to "Happy Nation," was just edited perfectly. The appearance and pure fear the Master Mold put into everyone. How it's edited, how the sound is cut out, how it's shot, the atmosphere. The sheer magnitude of Master Mold's attack, and the decision to see from the "boots of the ground" point of view. There's a couple things missing with animation, but where it counts is with the storytelling and everything everybody is saying. This is the exact story you want. This is the X-men back and we are here for it. So there we go um honestly I talked about the two episodes. I think it's tremendous.
Rewatching them a second time was even better because you get to pick up on little subtle things: Easter, eggs, more Easter, eggs, uh. Just the big thing that's going on here and sort of how it's spelled out, but also some of the hidden stuff behind you know some of the more obvious things that are like front facing you in the series. I absolutely loved it. Clearly the critics love it.
A 100 for Marvel Studios with this is got to be a big boost. Um, you know, we're constantly in that marvel is dead, marvel is back, marvel is dead, marvel is back, marvel is dead. Well, marvel is back with this one, I guess and depending on what you think of Echko, this might be two more victories in a row and honestly seeing how they're handling the X-men and the mutants here is giving a lot of people hope from what I've seen for Deadpool 3.
So let's hope that they can stick to landing with that one, because if this is what they're doing with the animated series of X-men I can only imagine that the films are going to be tremendous and finally understand the extent.
Sacrifice
Magneto protects the Morlocks. Magneto comforts Leech. And Gambit's sacrifice. Everyone should rewatch this scene and just focus on the sound effects and the lack of music. It's perfection.
