WWE: Roman Reigns Steals the Show at SummerSlam 2024. It took 10 years, but Roman finally got the loud, babyface pop he always wanted. Being there in the crowd was absolutely unreal. The pop he got was truly unmatched.
- Summer Slam 2020: Roman returns and becomes the biggest villain.
- Summer Slam 2024: Roman returns and begins his heroic redemption arc.
You can tell Roman Reigns wanted to smile there. He has been waiting for the moment that the crowd would accept him as a babyface, and now they finally have. Roman Reigns will never be booed again (as a babyface) after this. He has entered legendary aura status.
Allowing Roman Reigns creative control over his character was awesome. He made this story line himself (except for the Sami part). People think Triple H did it when he wasn’t even in charge when the story came up. He is allowed to play the character he wants to play. It shows that maybe he has a future in WWE creative should he choose so.

From the loud pop to the echo of the ring when Solo got punched/speared, the look of fear on Cody knowing he’s defenseless, to 50,000 people screaming OOOWAAA, and the look Roman gives looking out at the crowd—this is the only time a human being literally felt like a superhero.
People want to say that this was the first time Roman got a true babyface pop, but they’re forgetting Raw after TLC in 2015, when Roman beat Sheamus for the WWE Championship. At the end of that match, the whole arena was behind Roman, and you could see them chanting along as the referee counted the pin.
Roman Reigns using his WWE 40 entrance theme was unexpected, but definitely needed. Props to Solo Sikoa for playing his role well. He somewhat helped elevate this Cody and Roman story.
A Night to Remember
I was there last night! The crowd chanted “We want Roman” more times than I can count throughout the entire event! And Lord knows how many signs I saw that read, “We want Roman!” I’ve been going to shows for almost 10 years now with my dad.
This was our second SummerSlam after the one in Detroit last year, and this is easily hands down the best show I’ve ever been to, experienced, and watched! Let the Bloodline War begin! Acknowledge the one and only tribal chief!
