Is There a Need for a New iPhone Every Year?
Technology/Gadgets: Is There a Need for a New iPhone Every Year? I think they should slow down a bit! Gives us more time to enjoy the current ones without feeling outdated so fast. Maybe a new phone after 2 years. Maybe slowing down could lead to bigger, more meaningful upgrades instead of small incremental ones.
People are spending a lot of money on their phones, and within 6-7 months, they become outdated. The iPhone 16 has just been launched, and discussions about the iPhone 17 are already heating up. Apple should skip at least one year and then launch a new iPhone.
They can take time to release a new product and don't launch just for the sake of launching the product but should have significant improvement over its predecessor.
In my opinion, definitely. Let's be honest, they've kind of stretched this business model thin. Since they have less time to work on new features and improvements, leaving a lot left to be desired and also leaving consumers feeling disappointed as a result. It worked out for as long as it did, but just became unsustainable in the long run.
Is There a Need for a New iPhone Every Year?
Every 2 years would be a lot cooler, tbh. They’d have a lot more time to make bigger upgrades, and it would just make it all the more exciting. Especially if they want our devices to actually last long, lol. But they wouldn’t, and I’d kind of miss the yearly tradition.
Allow the consumers to enjoy their phones; it’s not like there’s a major update from the previous version annually; just an additional button or change in camera position with a heavier price. I mean, it's better to launch when it's actually come with some major upgrades. And, not just putting some AI stuff that is not even ready yet, adding extra buttons, same camera hardware.
I bought the new Pro Max after having been on an iPhone 11 for 5 years, and the upgrade has felt unbelievable. More people need to just stop buying the new phone every year and just commit to one for an extended period of time. Year-on-year improvements aren’t worth buying.
Can Apple Maintain the Pace?
They need to spend more time and have more time on perfecting their software and hardware instead of rushing it. So many bugs on new devices since the 14 pros.
All mobile companies should move to releasing flagship devices every two years. ATM, we get small iterative upgrades annually. Smartphone innovation has plateaued.
Smartphone technology has reached its peak. Companies should slow down their phone releases instead of releasing products with unfinished features *cough Apple Intelligence cough* and questionable camera array design.
