Apple unveils new MacBook Air with Touch ID

Apple on Tuesday unveiled new MacBook Air laptop with retina display and Touch ID for secure login, with a starting price of $1,199. The starting model has 13.3-inch display, 8 GB memory, 128 GB SSD, is 15.6 mm thin and weighs 1.25 kg. It can be pre-ordered from today in the US and will be available from November 7.

New MacBook Air is 10% thinner than the previous Air and weighs 2.75 pounds. Starts at $1,199, "the most affordable retina Mac we've ever offered," but still $200 more expensive than the previous model.
