News/Technology: Two big companies, Google and Apple, have announced plans to invest 290 billion rupees in India over the next five years.

Google will invest 10 billion dollars (about 82 thousand crore rupees) in digitization in India. Google CEO Sundar Pichai gave this information after meeting Prime Minister Modi on Friday. At the same time, the CEO of Amazon also talked about investing $ 26 billion (about Rs 2.1 lakh crore) in India after meeting the PM.

Sundar Pichai said, ‘It is an honor to meet the Prime Minister. Google will invest $10 billion in India’s digitization. We are announcing the opening of our Global Fintech Operation Center in GIFT City, Gujarat.

Amazon invests $26 billion in India

Amazon CEO Andy Jassy also met Prime Minister Modi. After the meeting, he said, ‘Amazon is one of the world’s largest investors in India. We have invested $11 billion so far and intend to invest another $15 billion, taking the total to $26 billion. He said that through this the company will help create more jobs, digitize more small and medium businesses. Along with this, it will help export Indian companies’ products to the world.

Pichai said that very soon we will introduce support for more Indian languages in Bard. Bard is Google’s AI chatbot, which the company launched in 180 countries including India during the Google IO 2023 event.

Google wants to create a single unified AI model in India. It will handle more than 100 Indian languages. This is part of the company’s global efforts. The company wants to bring 1000 of the most spoken languages online. This way people will get information in their preferred language. The company supports the Center for Responsible AI in IT Madras.

Google announced an investment of $ 10 billion in July 2020

In July 2020, Google announced plans to invest $10 billion in India over the next five to seven years. Apart from this, in December last year, Pichai announced Google would invest a part of its India Digitization Fund (IDF) in Indian startups. The company also said that one-fourth of the $300 million from this fund would be used in women-led organizations.

PM Narendra Modi also met Elon Musk

Earlier on June 21, Prime Minister Modi and Tesla CEO Elon Musk met. After the meeting, Musk said, ‘I am excited about India’s future. I like Modi. It was an enjoyable meeting and I liked him a lot.

When asked about the timeline of Tesla coming to India, Musk said, “I am sure Tesla will be in India soon.” He is also planning to visit India next year i.e. in 2024.

Prime Minister Modi tweeted the picture after meeting Musk and wrote, ‘It was a wonderful meeting with you today Elon Musk. We discussed issues ranging from energy to spirituality. Before the meeting, Elon Musk and PM Modi discussed Tesla’s entry into India during the meeting.
